Covers to all four volumes have heavy loss to leather (possibly eaten by insects or rodents) (see scan), Vols I-III have old ink inscriptions to title pages, and all four have old numerical bookplates to front pastedowns. Sound set overall. ** The first edition (three volumes) in English of 1797 was published before the author had finished the German original, and so the fourth volume, published for the first time in English with the second edition, is not normally found with sets of the first edition.**
