FIRST EDITION THUS 4to. dark green cloth with gilt titles and vignette illustration to spine and upper board. No dust jacket. Illustrated endpapers. xvi, 167pp., illustrated with 25 colour plates by James Thorpe, tipped-in on green leaves with captioned tissue-guards. Ink name and date (1911) to rear of frontispiece with square area of free endpaper cut out so that it can be read (please see photos). And an ink gift inscription, dated 1938, to front pastedown. Occasional light foxing, heavy to prelims and foredge. A couple of small black spots to upper board and very light wear to top and base of spine and corners. A VERY GOOD COPY.
