FIRST EDITION 4to. red cloth hardback with gilt titles to upper board. Pages unnumbered. Features 32 b/w plates of hairstyles through the ages, mostly with captions, 1 page of text concerning the change to short hair styles, and 1 b/w plate featuring a portrait and text about Marcel, the originator of the Marcel Wave. Every page has a textured translucent tissue-guard. Large ink inscription, dated 1980, to ffep. Very slight foxing to endpapers else clean and bright throughout. Slight fading to top 3cm strip of lower board, light wear to top and base of spine and corners, and faint mark to upper board which looks like a stitched scar - please see photos. A VERY GOOD COPY of a VERY SCARCE TITLE.
