Two volumes, 8vo., blue clothbound hardbacks gilt, with gilt insignia to upper covers, Vol II with dust jacket; Vol I: [xx] + 554pp + index, with colour frontis plus one other colour plate, 12 b/w plates + 25 b/w maps (some foldout) and maps to endpapers; Vol II: [xxiv] + 512pp, indexed, with 21 b/w plates and 18 b/w maps (some foldout) plus map endpapers. Both Vols have a previous owner's bookplate to prelims, and Vol I an ink gift inscription. Vol I has foxing to edges, endpapers and throughout, front inner hinge a little loose, ink marks to rear endpapers, boards slightly soiled and rather worn at edges, a little loss to rear lower outer corner. Sound overall. Vol II dust jacket edgeworn with tape repairs and reinforcements, overall Very Good in a Sound, repaired dust jacket.
