Second Edition. Large 8vo., original dark green cloth gilt, with gilt decorations to spine and blind-stamped line borders to boards; [xviii] + 432pp, with 23 full page b/w illustrations (one foldout), 92 text illustrations, plus 5 foldout maps at end, one of which is in colour. No previous ownership inscriptions or annotation. Light tanning and foxing to the edges, heavier to the endpapers plus some lighter foxing occasionally throughout, foldout maps at rear also have a few spots plus some very short closed tears. Boards a little rubbed at outer corners, spine sides and ends, a few faint handling marks and ripples to the cloth. Good overall.
