FIRST EDITION 4to. beigte cloth hardback, decorative gilt titles to spine and upper board. t.e.g. 403pp., Indexed, illustrated with 14 captioned, tissue-guarded plates plus 19 b/w text illustrations by William Hyde. Plus loose 4pp. programme for a General Meeting of the Brotherhood of the Cinque Ports from April 1970 and some associated photocopied pages of the Order of Procession. Tiny ink name to early blank. Rust marks from paperclip to top of two early pages (not affecting type). Occasional light foxing. Inner hinges a little weak with endpapers split. Some soiling to covers with gilt titles to spine somewhat dulled and light wear to top and base of spine. Overall a Good+ Copy.
