FIRST FRENCH EDITION (translated from the original German Die Akustik of 1802 by the Author and dedicated to Napoleon). 8vo. hardback in half tan calf with dark brown and dark red title labels, gilt, to spine and dark green pebbled buckram boards. All edges marbled. TEXT IN FRENCH. xxviii, 375pp. plus 8 folding engraved plates at end (Plate no. IV bound out of order). Small modern bookplate to front pastedown and older ink inscription to early blank. Occasional light foxing, mainly to prelims, and some light soiling to endpapers. Spine and corner edges rather rubbed and scuffed. Overall a VERY GOOD COPY.
