A New Edition, with a Copious Index, by William Hone. 8vo., in full calf gilt, with raised bands and gilt decoration to spine, a.e.g., marbled endpapers; [lxvii] + 420pp, with engraved portrait frontis of William Hone and 136 illustrations within text. Neat ink gift inscription dated 1857 to early blank within an engraved device that includes the Eton College motto. Foxing to endpapers, to the first and last few pages, plus some occasionally throughout, a few small marks to boards, edges a little rubbed. VG overall.
