FIRST EDITION Small 4to., bound in publisher's royal blue blind-stamped cloth gilt, [xv] + 272pp inc. index + 7pp list of subscribers, tissue-guarded colour frontispiece plus b/w text figures throughout. Two ink inscriptions to verso of ffep, one concerning Messrs Rochesmith [sic] and Fairholt and the other giving purchasing details from a Sotheby and Wilkinson sale, 1880, on behalf of the RIBA. RIBA bookplate to front pastedown and a couple of rubber stamps to early blanks. Very slight wear to top and base of spine, else a VERY GOOD, BRIGHT COPY.
