One of only 1250 copies printed. 8vo., bound in quarter cream vellum gilt, over blue paper-covered boards with gilt lettering and Maugham's emblem to upper cover (Stott's 'Variant i'); [viii] + 228pp., with b/w tissue-guarded frontispiece. Library bookplate of George Charles Williamson [an International Art Expert], Burgh House Hampstead, dated 1907, to front pastedown. Slight tanning to edges and endpapers, frontis tissue-guard sunned and with one closed tear, occasional light foxing. Outer corners of boards very worn with some overall light soiling and a stain to top right corner of front cover, vellum spine rather soiled. Overall a Good, Sound Copy.
