PRESENTATION COPY, First Edition. 8vo. green clothbound hardback gilt, with gilt lettering to upper cover, t.e.g. [xcix] + 451pp., indexed, with tissue-guarded frontispiece plus 13 other black and white plates. Ink presentation inscription 'To E. B. Havell...from the Author', dated 1913, to ffep. A later ink inscription, dated 1950, to front pastedown, and a modern bookplate to blank facing half-title. Foxing to edges, endpapers, and occasionally throughout, heavier to prelims and foredge. Tissue guard of frontispiece a little creased. Very slight fading to spine, wear to outer corners and spine ends. Overall a GOOD+ COPY.
