I and II published as "In Two Volumes", Vol. III published as "In Three Volumes". 4to. hardbacks, uniformly bound in full tree calf with 2 tan title labels and highly decorative gilt to spines. Professionally rebacked using original boards and spines laid on. Marbled endpapers. Volume I: xxv, Errata [1], [1] 2-703pp. With silhouette portrait frontispiece. Volume II: viii, [1], 2-726, Errata [1], Advertisement [1]. Volume III: x, [1], 2-691pp. With engraved Portrait frontispiece and folding Genealogy of the Guelphs. Each volume with engraved armorial bookplate of Frederick Heppel to front pastedown. Occasional light foxing, mainly to prelims. FFEP of Volume I partially detached. Upper board of Volume III beginning to split at hinge and has been reinforced with linen tape to front inner hinge but holding well. Slight scuffs to boards and rubbing to corners. Slight damage to foot of spine of Volume III. Overall a GOOD+, HANDSOME SET.
