FIRST EDITION 8vo. full 19th Century red morocco with raised bands, decorative gilt to spine and boards. t.e.g. iv, 192pp. With an engraved title page, 47 steel engravings (2 from Excursions in Ireland, 1821, mistakenly bound-in), a folding map of Kent and a folding street plan of Canterbury. The title page calls for 50 engravings and most copies usually only have 48, including the Map, Plan and Title Page engraving. Publication notes in pencil to verso of ffep. No other markings or inscriptions. Occasional light foxing, heavier to prelims and untrimmed foredge. Very slight rubbing to spine edges, else a VERY GOOD, HANDSOME COPY.
