BOTH VOLUMES FIRST EDITION in unmatched bindings. 12mo. full calf hardbacks with raised bands, Vol. I lacking title label, with gilt decorations to spine and inlaid and blind-embossed decoration to boards; Vol. II has red title label, gilt, to spine and gilt borders to upper and lower boards with all edges speckled in red. 212pp. and 198pp. Vol. I has engraved frontispiece by Van der Gucht after Hogarth. Engraved armorial bookplate of Sir John Cope (1690-1760, British General and Member of Parliament) to front pastedown of Vol. II. Faint pencil marks to pastedowns of Vol. II with a few letters in ink to blank facing dedication page and rear pastedown. Occasional light foxing, heavier to prelims. Some wear and rubbing to bindings with front board loose (but still held by sewing) to spine of Vol. I and calf just starting to crack at upper hinge of Vol. II. Overall a Good Set.
