First Edition. 8vo., black clothbound hardback gilt, with gilt lettering and armorial device to upper cover; [xii] + 399pp, indexed, illustrated with b/w plates and a map, Errata slip tipped in at pp2. Old ink owner name and date (1930) to ffep. Ex library copy with small rubber stamps and remains of library plate to rear endpaper, and one small stamp to shelf edge. Light browning and a little foxing to edges, occasional light foxing throughout, boards slight soiled, a few marks, wear to edges and corners. A Good, Sound copy overall. No dust jacket.
