FIRST EDITION Folio (approx. 41.5 x 25cm) hardback in full dark brown calf with raised bands, tan title label, gilt to spine, skilfully rebacked using original spine and boards. 553pp. plus 4pp. Index at end. Plus 75 full page engraved plates, engraved frontispiece and engraved vignette to title page. A clean copy with no previous owners' markings or inscriptions excepting a few small ink spots to front pastedown and ffep. Frontispiece (which is also ffep) has had a few small holes near the gutter carefully repaired with tissue. Vertical creases to first few pages. A clean, bright copy with occasional faint offsetting from plates. Original boards somewhat scuffed (please see photos) but overall a VERY GOOD, HANDSOME COPY.
