FIRST EDITION. 8vo., mid-blue cloth with ornate gilt titles to spine (rebound for Boot's Book-lovers Library, possibly around 1910, with slight trimming to edges but not affecting text). Sage green Art Nouveau patterned endpapers, reinforced at inner hinges. Includes detached ivory bakelite bookmark, with Boot's Book-lovers Library printed on one side and Membership details, dated 1916, hand-written on reverse. Library label to rear pastedown and lighter area to upper board where Boot's Library sticker was. Light marks to endpapers from removal of tape. Occasional light soiling. Covers somewhat worn and faded. A poor, sound but unusual copy.
