FIRST EDITION 12 Volumes. 8vo. hardbacks, three-quarter bound in dark brown calf with raised bands and decorative gilt to spines and marbled boards. All edges speckled in red. Each volume approximately 480pp. with between 12 and 13 colour and tinted plates (total 147 plates). Also many b/w wood-engraved vignettes within the text. A clean set with no previous owners' markings or inscriptions. Occasional light foxing, heavier to prelims. Leather of spines and corners rather worn and rubbed.
