Small 8vo. hardback, bound by Zaehnsdorf, 1896, in full dark green morocco with decorative gilt to spine and boards (possibly professionally rebacked by Zaehnsdorf). Decorative gilt dentelles with bright yellow silk endpapers. A.e.g. 190pp., indexed, illustrated with 8 full page, single colour, tissue-guarded plates and many engravings and diagrams within the text. Ink inscription to early blank reads ' To C. E. Laurial of Boston with the Author's Compliments'. Small nick with charred edges to outer edge of early blank. Damp staining to lower edge of book, particularly noticeable to rear endpapers and previous few pages. Also present but much lighter to front endpapers. Spine of binding very slightly faded and rubbed with slight edgewear to boards and corners. Overall a Good+ Copy.
