Six Volumes. 8vo. hardbacks bound in full calf with rebacked spines and original diced calf boards. Decorative gilt spines with gilt borders and inside dentelles to boards. Original marbled endpapers and all edges marbled. Volume I has engraved portrait frontispiece and Volume VI an engraved facsimile of the 1655 portrait of Queen Christina of Sweden. Volumes I to V have an elegant engraved armorial bookplate (G. Gipps) to inside front covers. No other markings or inscriptions. Heavy foxing to prelims and illustration in Vol. VI, otherwise occasional and light. A little edgewear and rubbing of gilt borders to all volumes and occasional small scuffs. Overall a VERY GOOD, HANDSOME SET.
